RISE Internship/Practicum
A six-week university-level laboratory research placement in one of two tracks. Internship students work 40 hours a week on a single project with a BU faculty, postdoctoral or graduate-student mentor in fields such as astronomy, biology, engineering and physics; Practicum students take a daily lecture then do group research in Computational Neurobiology or Data Science and meet biotech and pharmaceutical companies weekly. Both end with a poster symposium. Important restriction: BU states RISE is open to domestic students currently in their junior year of high school, so international applicants are not eligible. Dates and figures are BU's published Summer 2026 season, now past.
