Summer Art Institute — UCLA
Three-week credit-granting studio art institute at UCLA for high-school students in grades 9–12 who are at least 15 by the first day of Summer Sessions and no older than 18. Students pick one track — Drawing, Painting, Photography or Sculpture — and work through daily studio instruction, artist lectures, group critiques, one-to-one faculty meetings and a final exhibition, earning four units of UCLA college credit. The program runs twice: a commuter session from 22 June to 10 July and a residential session from 12 July to 1 August, with supervised housing including weekends and breakfast and dinner in a nearby dining hall. Admission is by application with a transcript, four artwork samples and a questionnaire. The UCLA registration fee, course and institutional fees, and the international-student insurance and service fee are charged on top of the program fee. Season shown is summer 2026, the most recent published by the university.
